The Astrological Chiron, What Hurts, What Heals w/ Gayle & Carol - 3 Sessions (May/June)
The Astrological Chiron: What Hurts, What Heals
with Gayle MacDonald and Carol Ferris
May 15, May 29, June 12th, 2025
The myths of Chiron lie in Greek territory. His nature is hybrid – part human, part horse, part mortal, part immortal. Soon after his birth, Chiron’s mother abandons him, horrified at how he was conceived and disgusted by his appearance. The Sun god, Apollo, finds Chiron and takes him under his wing, eventually appointing Chiron as mentor, healer, and coach to the heroes and heroines of that world . Chiron is wounded, through no fault of his own, when caught in the crossfire of a fierce battle. His wound leads to mortal suffering in an eternal body. However, this suffering leads to medicine transmitted to humanity. Ultimately, it is Chiron’s acceptance of his mortality that releases him from his agony.
Chiron’s story is our story. How do we live in a dual nature? What hurts us? How do we come to terms with what hurts, what medicine do we make? How do we transmit that beneficially to others?
In this three-part class, Gayle MacDonald and Carol Ferris journey in myth to the experience of Chiron in the individual and collective horoscope. We will look at several versions of the story; we’ll look at the discovery and history of Chiron, and the development of understanding, and we’ll apply it by natal placement and by life cycle in each horoscope.
